The Executive Body
You've built a career you're proud of. You run a company, lead a team, and deliver results. But somewhere along the way, your body got left behind.
"I should have this handled." "I start strong, then I fall off." "I can run a business but I can't sort my body." If you've said any of that to yourself, you know exactly what this show is about.
The problem usually isn't effort. Most of the men I work with are already doing a lot, sometimes too much. They're running on discipline and willpower, the same system that worked in their 20s and 30s. But the body changes, and the circumstances change. More isn't the answer. What used to work then, starts working against you now.
The Executive Body is a podcast for high-performing professionals ready to stop grinding harder and start doing what actually works. Hosted by Martin Bugaj, a coach with nearly two decades of experience coaching high-performing men, every episode brings data over guesswork, identity shift over willpower, and sustainability over intensity, because the body you want starts with thinking differently, not just trying harder.

In today’s episode we have the pleasure of sitting down with our online coaching client Garrett, who traveled to London all the way from California to discuss and share his experience of his weight loss journey on our program.
Garrett started with us back in May 2023 at 222 pounds, and had a goal of getting down to 200 pounds.
By August 2023, just three months into the program, he achieved this goal and continued to lose weight, going below 200 pounds by October.
Everything was going extremely well until December 24th of that year when Garrett had a skiing accident that left him with a torn rotator cuff that required surgery a month later.
Despite the injury, Garrett continued his fitness routine post-surgery, returning to the gym for a light cardio routine and gradually incorporating light strength training. He also managed to maintain a consistent weight loss by adhering to his newly established nutrition and lifestyle habits that were manageable and sustainable.
In this conversation, Garrett also shares his previous attempts to achieve his goals which included a very rigid and unsustainable “Protein Bar diet” that left him with no energy and at a place where he regained a lot of the lost weight very quickly.
Tune in and enjoy Garrett’s inspiring journey of hiss success against the odds.
This is an archived episode from Trust the Process, the show that became The Executive Body. The content is still relevant, the conversations still hold up, so I kept it here, but the name has changed, the focus has sharpened, and there's new material coming your way. And if you're catching up on the back catalogue, enjoy this one. There's some good stuff in here.
